Update from the medical advisory committee at the Handicraft Club
(January 2023)
As we return from the holidays visiting with our friends and families it is important to remind everyone about what is going on with Covid in Providence County. The risk for Covid has increased to HIGH.. That means that the number of Covid cases and the number of hospitalizations in Rhode Island have increased in the last two weeks. Most of the current disease is caused by a new variant of omicron. The symptoms of this new variant vary a bit from the previous variant. This is mostly an upper respiratory disease meaning that the initial symptoms are usually SORE or SCRATCHY THROAT and nasal congestion.
Once again, we are asking you NOT TO COME TO THE CLUB if you are sick.
The CDC suggests that individuals wear masks when the risk is HIGH, and that individuals who are high-risk refrain from gathering indoors where they might be exposed.
Feel free to mask up at the club. Teachers may ask for their class to wear masks and we will support their decision.
Please check with your healthcare provider if you need updates on vaccines or boosters
We welcome everyone back to the club and hope you all stay healthy and well.
Thank you
