From July through November 2021, the Handicraft Club of Providence visited Blithewold Mansion, Gardens & Arboretum to plein air paint, draw and make sketches of the grounds. The Handicraft Club sits within the walls of the Truman Beckwith House on the East Side of Providence, an organization that has provided a haven to learn historic crafts and develop personal artistic practice since 1904. During the pandemic, classes went on Zoom and outdoors, in various locations to keep its members in connection with other members and their love of making. Blithewold was generous to open its grounds to the Handicraft Club for classes with artists Ida Schmulowitz and Margaret Owen, to draw and paint. This exhibition highlights the student's and teachers' impressions of the historic grounds.  This exhibition will include sketches, paintings, and prints from members and instructors.
